Little Eli is lucky to have a mum, Corey, who is an event stylist oh, and uncles in Australian band, Uncle Jed. So it’s safe to say this party was off to a good start, with both styling and entertainment covered from the get go.

The styling evolved from one of Eli’s birthday presents – a ukulele. This grew into a “Kumbaya” theme complete with teepee, faux fire and even more instruments, because Eli loves music.

The colour scheme was kept earthy and natural with a splash of colour, while cushions provided a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for kids and grownups. Corey made a teepee, arranged flowers using Proteas, Silver dollars, and Yellow pom poms, and made a faux fire from cellophane and a woven basket.

Guests were invited to the grassed area of their apartment block by the scenic lake where they enjoyed homemade iced tea and food from the farmers market. Corey said seeing the smile on Eli’s face made everything worthwhile. This birthday party is great inspiration for anyone looking to have a peaceful, relaxed and fuss-free celebration. We’ll have to wait and see how Eli’s second birthday can top this one.
