Before being a Mum, Amy never really understood why parents made such a deal about their children’s birthday parties, because ‘half the time, they wouldn’t remember them, right?’ Well, now that Amy has a little one of her own, she says she finally gets it.

‘I want to celebrate. I want to really rejoice over this little person that is making our life so much richer. I want to throw confetti and be outwardly thankful for this amazing gift that has been given to us…I want to share that joy that she brings to my life with my friends and family, and in return I hope that she feels unbelievably loved and treasured,’ Amy told us.

So, when her daughter Evie turned 2 that exactly what she did. While there was no set theme for the event, Amy made sure there was loads of colour! Basically, she went straight to Poppies for Grace and put together a party using their bright and vibrant decorations.

She also made a super fun balloon chandelier from confetti and latex balloons, crepe paper and honeycomb garlands, a table runner from old curtains, and bunting from vintage hankies. For entertainment, Amy hired a jumping castle from her local Toy Library for just $30! ‘It was the bomb! The kids loved it and it was so cheap. Not everyone knows that you can hire party equipment from your toy library,’ she said.

So take a look at Evie’s 2nd birthday and get inspired to create a party full of love, colour and fun for your little one.
