If you haven’t noticed, donuts are totally all the rage right now. We’ve decided to turn it into a party theme for anyone who enjoys a bit of sweetness in their lives. If you’re a whiz in the kitchen you could opt to handmake a few fresh batches of donuts. But in our opinion, it’s so much easier to phone your local bakery and pre-order a heap of these bad boys in plenty of pretty colours. You could also order some plain ones and have the kids decorate and flavour them at the party.
We love the idea of piling the donuts on top of a cake stand and serving them as a sort of donut-pyramid. Pop some candles on top and this would work as a rad alternative to the traditional birthday cake. You could also fill little glass bottles with milk and a paper straw, then sit a mini donut on top – so cute! And instead of party bags, simply give each child an assortment of different donut flavours to take home in a gorgeous brown favour box.
