When Brisbane based photographers Anna and Josh of J+A Photography decided to throw an intimate garden party they wanted two things first and foremost—lots of florals and happy guests. Describing the styling as a mix between elegant and hipster, the pair used mismatched tables and chairs, complemented by an abundance of blooms and greenery. Olive leaves were used as tabletop decorations, purple flowers were styled in urns, and pink berries were arranged in silver goblets. Josh and Anna decorated the table with burlap, individual wooden boards and menus tied with string to add a rustic feel. Food and drink were seasonally inspired with guests treated to cold-pressed juice. As is the case with any outdoor celebration, Anna and Josh were at the mercy of the weather. It rained on the day of their party, but they didn’t let that spoil their fun! ‘We managed to borrow a friend’s gazebo at the last minute, which saved the event, but it did mean we weren’t able to hang flowers or lights as we had planned,’ Anna said.
