One Fine Baby Turns One

One Fine Baby’s first birthday party was thrown to unite industry friends that had supported One Fine Baby during its first year of business. The kid friendly celebration was also an occasion to announce a new partnership with HOORAY!.

One Fine Baby is a unique family and lifestyle fair. The fair was designed to showcase all the amazing vendors who run businesses that cater to the baby and child industry in Australia. It’s also an amazing day out for the whole family with entertainment, craft activities, great shopping, food and coffee.

Soft pink, blue, peach and white were the basis for the design concept. Instead of following a specific theme, these colours were carried throughout the styling elements to create a cohesive event.

‘The colours were all calm and cool, which was a break from the traditional primary colours often associated with children’s parties,’ said Jessica McLeod, one of the founders and directors of One Fine Baby. ‘The Coogee Pavilion has a very distinct style and colour palette so the ideas had to work in partnership with the venue.’

‘The Coogee Pavilion is so beautifully styled by the Merivale team that we didn’t need to add too much to the mix,’ said Jessica. ‘We kept things simple with a few sweet elements such as DIY party hats, giant balloons, flowers and bespoke bunting. The amazing food, including cakes, cookies and the breakfast items, were styling elements in their own right!’

The nametags, bunting, stationery, children’s craft and party hats were all handmade by the One Fine Baby team.

‘We had a gorgeous face painter on site to turn our little guests into any imaginary character they chose – Batman, a princess, a tiger! We left the decision-making to the children themselves. This too followed our colour palette to keep things cohesive – and easier to wash off,’ said Jessica. ‘Dandy Moon also came along to sit with our special little guests and work with them on creating gorgeous bespoke necklaces. It was an easy – and not too messy – craft activity!’
