When you work in the events industry, it’s only right that a soiree to celebrate the impending arrival of your little one is an epic occasion! This was certainly the case for Emma Guy, who’s boss Jessica, owner of The Wedding Designer (A.K.A best boss ever), threw her an “epically amazing” baby shower.
With a minimalist Moroccan-boho theme, Jessica created THE baby shower of Emma’s dreams.
‘While the event wasn’t a surprise the scale certainly was! My husband Joel and I were completely blown away. Neither of us have family who live locally, so it was incredibly lovely to celebrate the impending birth of our “little Guy”, with my awesome work family and friends,’ says Emma.
Having worked together for quite some time, Jessica knew Emma’s style well, so she incorporated some of her favourite décor items into the styling. These included leather cases, blue china, and plenty of Moroccan elements like wedding blankets and woven baskets.
‘We knew we were having a girl, but neither of us are super into pink, so we wanted something soft but not ultra-feminine,’ says Emma.
Texture was also seen throughout the shower, with wooden tables and amazing floral installations created by Emma’s colleagues Cheryl and Amelia. Using an abundance of greenery and some of Emma’s favourite flowers –Roses, Astillbe, Queen Anne’s Lace and Lotus pods– the team transformed the blank canvas hall into a bohemian oasis.
But the stand out feature, according to Emma, was the enormous wooden teepee they built.
‘It was beautiful and epic. The lights, the tassels, the balloons…it was all amazing!’ says Emma.
‘My favourite moment of the day was sitting under the teepee with all of our friends around us, after a delicious lunch and way too many cakes!’
