Here at HOORAY!, we simply can’t go past a good photographer who takes a photojournalistic approach, capturing your day in a way that is totally natural and authentic.
So, it’s no surprise to say we were excited when we came across Emma’s photography; not only is she a good photojournalistic photographer, she’s a brilliant one!
Emma’s approach to photography is completely honest and oh-so effortlessly romantic. She knows that when the cheesy and staged poses are pushed aside, there’s room for the real emotions to shine through.
Emma is based in Brisbane, Australia, but is always up for travelling to locations afar to capture destination events (you might have spied one of her gorgeous photographs in our recent Destination Wedding Photography Edit!).

Meet Emma Hampton
I’m Emma. I was born and raised in country NSW before meeting my future husband and moving to the big smoke at 19. After jumping around a few houses, cities, islands and states, in 2007 we settled by the beach in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. In Winter 2016 we made the move up to Brisbane for lifestyle reasons. I love my beautiful girls Georgie and Evie, my husband Dan, my home, fresh flowers and old furniture. I love taking photos and I love love.
I started my photographic journey at a very young age, but at 17 my uncle who was a wedding photographer gave me my first SLR, from then on I’ve moved through life with a camera around my neck. While I really enjoyed my time as a hairdresser and in hospitality, I always felt there was something missing… I felt I had more to give.
Over four years ago I took the plunge and with the constant love and support from my husband Dan, I started my own photography business and haven’t regretted a single day since. Juggling two kids and self-employed is never easy, but as they say, “do a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
Emma Hampton Photography is a representation of me. Honest, casual, romantic, natural and elegant. My aim is to tell the story of your special day, not forced or unnatural, capturing your personality and the essence of your style. I love shooting weddings, the pure beauty of the bride, and the glow of the groom, being part of the happiest day in your life. ensuring these memories last forever.
