Jacqui and Reece were set up on a blind date where they watched a movie and stayed up all night talking. After their date, Jacqui ran home and told her sister that she would ‘spend the rest of her life with this man’. Jacqui and Reece travelled around America together and it was there that Jacqui expected a proposal. Much to her dismay, it didn’t happen…or so she thought! It turned out that Reece had purchased a ring when they were in New York and carried it around with him for five weeks, citing that he ‘felt no connection to the places they visited, so kept it for the perfect time’. ‘When we arrived home, I’d gotten used to the fact that maybe it wasn’t going to happen for a while,’ said Jacqui. ‘In April, we did our yearly trip to Windy Harbour. We sat on a beautiful cliff and watched the sunset, took too many photos and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Finally I turned around to see this nervous man on one knee, asking me to spend the rest of our lives together. He had hidden some champagne and glasses, so we stayed and celebrated together. We had no phone service in Windy Harbour, so after three days we finally got to tell everyone our news!’ See all the images of their special day below!
