Vanya and Steve’s story began in December 2006, when they met while working together at an event at the Melbourne Museum. When they finally got a chance to talk to each other, the conversation flowed and they quickly discovered that they had a lot in common. After going on a few dates, they soon knew this was the real thing. They never needed to have that awkward ‘are we in a relationship’ conversation – they both just knew.
Vanya and Steve decided early on that they wanted to host a glamorous occasion – so they set a black-tie dress code with a Great Gatsby twist. They opted for a long, opulent buffet-style table where their guests shared an intimate meal together, and the dance floor was decorated with transparent confetti-filled balloons.
Campbell Point House was the perfect venue to host their Gatsby-inspired wedding; from the picturesque lake views, opulent architecture, grandiose rooms and hallways and perfectly manicured gardens. Instead of a wedding cake, the couple opted for a champagne tower, which they ceremoniously filled in place of the traditional cake cutting – it made for a fantastic photo opportunity too! And In true Gatsby style, Vanya organised a fireworks display as a surprise for Steve and their guests – a beautiful way to round off a truly glamorous occasion.
