If a sundrenched celebration with a twist of contemporary 70s glamour sparks an air of excitement in you, look no further than Katie and Simon’s gorgeous lakeside wedding for inspiration.
The wedding planned and styled by Emilie Williams has got us swooning over the celebration’s modern décor and refreshing colour palette.
Set against the magical landscape of regional NSW Mulwala, the warm weather with delicious cocktail food in one hand, Aperol spritz in the other, is enough to get anyone boogying under the stars.
A Contemporary Theme
When it came to the wedding planning, the happy couple knew that “if we were to have a big wedding, we wanted it to be the best party for everyone invited!” And they definitely achieved that with the celebration’s epic festival vibe creating a glamourous affair.
A tasteful yet groovy 70s style peppered the venue. A stunning expanse of water framed the newly-wed couple, the private lakeside venue evoking contemporary 70s goals—with Italian and Spanish cocktail food to match.
The fun and relaxed atmosphere embodied in the gorgeous blooms and ultra-fun dancefloor achieved Katie and Simon’s goal of “bringing everyone we love together with delicious food, drinks and dancing!”.
A Special Surprise
As if the celebration needed anymore uplifting moments, the bridesmaids pulled through with an awe-inspiring surprise—a flash mob! Yes, you heard that right. Katie explains, “My bridesmaids organised a 40-person flashmob that blew my mind away.”
Now that’s what we call amazing bridesmaids.
