Dan and Zoe met through mutual friends at a Good Vibrations music festival. Their relationship was casual at first, but it wasn’t long before the pair fell in love. Dan proposed to Zoe on a regular Saturday morning walk along the beach, catching the sunrise with their dog Molly, and of course Zoe said yes!
Zoe and Dan, who styled the entire wedding from top to bottom, wanted Zoe’s cultural background to add a European twist to the wedding. The catering was themed Mediterranean and the wedding favours were jars of Dan’s homemade olives.
Dan also has an obsession with bikes, so the couple made sure bikes were a prominent theme, incorporating them into the Save the Date cards and wedding invitations, and even using Dan’s red bike as their wishing well.
For the tables, Zoe purchased seasonal flowers from South Melbourne Market, in pastel hues of blue, pink and purple. She placed them in mismatched jars, alongside clear white wine bottles acting as candelabras, with tall white candles in the top.
‘We had everyone in the family drinking wine from clear bottles…when they were lit up the candle wax melted down the bottle and really gave [the candelabras] a great effect,’ said Zoe.
This wedding is the perfect mix of rustic and romance, with simply beautiful styling and romantic lighting. Dan and Zoe certainly know what it means to incorporate their personalities into their special day to ensure that it is totally unique to them as a couple.
