Full of bold colour and unique touches, Grace and Frankie’s wedding is one we know you will love as much as we do.
A pastel-free colour theme was just the beginning for this event that encapsulated everything this stunning couple is all about. Having worked in events her whole life, Grace expressed her desire for an event that was a little bit different from the norm.
“We wanted it to be bold, eclectic and unexpected” she shares, “we just wanted something that represented us—different, fun, bright!”.
With just those few keywords, you can start to get a feel for Grace and Frankie’s day—a fun-loving and colourful celebration that intertwined both of their personalities to truly make the day their own.
A SURPRISE AROUND EVERY CORNER
Party vibes and a strong emphasis on great food and entertainment set the tone for the reception. Your usual wedding DJ was just not going to cut it for this duo, as Grace and Frankie chose to include five different music acts at their reception.
“I think everyone was wowed by the fact that we had a number of different artists to really set the mood and take them on a journey from the moment they got there until the very end.”
A supper of late-night pizza served in custom boxes was a crowd (and hubby!) favourite, that acknowledged the couple’s Italian heritage and their shared love of pizza. “It was a surprise, and everyone loved that!” says Grace.
“There was no doubt that food would be a highlight of the night,” Grace tells us, as she spoke of the calibre of their chosen venue, Greenfields Albert Park, and the Head Chef, Nick Korceba.
This loved-up couple considered every last detail in their styling to achieve the unique look and feel they were after.
During the planning process, Grace and Frankie often found themselves using the words ‘textured’, ‘layered’ and ‘unique’ to describe what they wanted to see on their big day.
The blooms, styled and sourced by Décor It Events, featured deep pinks and reds, balanced with blue hydrangeas. Classic black and white dress for the bridal party and simple oatmeal-coloured table linens gave the rich florals a chance to shine through.
You can’t help but marvel at these opulent floral arrangements, which can be seen framing the circle arch at the ceremony and the moon-shaped neon at the reception—two shapes that also carry though the wedding themselves.
IT’S ALL ABOUT TRUST
Grace described that the trust she had in the suppliers they had chosen was instrumental in her lack of pre-wedding stress. “Make sure you have great suppliers involved that love what they do and that you can trust… they’ll make the planning process and lead up so much easier for you!”.
