Caroline and Jared are an English girl and a South African boy, living in New Zealand with a one-year-old son called Louis and a fluffy cat called Percy.

They met one night in a UK bar about 10 years ago, and it was while they were dancing to Peter Andre’s ‘Mysterious Girl’ that something special developed.

The couple knew they didn’t want to have a traditional wedding from the start. Caroline drew inspiration from country fete’s to help create a party atmosphere. She’s also a very crafty person, so she wanted the wedding to have a handmade air that made guests feel comfortable and included on the day.

‘There were a lot of details in the wedding that I prepared during my son’s nap times. Homemade bunting, games made out of formula tins, chalkboards from old picture frames, mugs, cutlery and plates collected from charity shops – the more colourful the better!’ said Caroline.

To keep guests entertained, Caroline and Jared organised a whole heap of garden games to be played after the ceremony. These included giant versions of Jenga, snakes and ladders, connect four and knock down cans. Guests also battled it out in three-legged, sack, and egg and spoon races, which were a total hit!

Caroline and Jared’s wedding was a laid-back, fun, family affair that helped build a relationship between their two families.

‘Personally, I loved every minute and wouldn’t have changed a thing,’ said Caroline.RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_01.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_04.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_03.jpgRC_Wedding_Caroline+Jarred_40 RC_Wedding_Caroline+Jarred_39 RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_02.jpgRC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_06.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_10.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_09.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_08.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_07.jpgRC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_11.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_12.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_13.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_14.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_15.jpgRC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_05.jpgRC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_16.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_20.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_19.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_18.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_17.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_25.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_24.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_23.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_22.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_21.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_29.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_28.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_27.jpg RC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_26.jpgRC_Wedding_Caroline-Jarred_30.jpgRC_Wedding_Caroline+Jarred_31 RC_Wedding_Caroline+Jarred_36 RC_Wedding_Caroline+Jarred_35 RC_Wedding_Caroline+Jarred_34 RC_Wedding_Caroline+Jarred_33 RC_Wedding_Caroline+Jarred_32RC_Wedding_Caroline+Jarred_37 RC_Wedding_Caroline+Jarred_38
