If you’re a believer in fate, then this one’s for you. Ashlea and Alex met at Southbound music festival, where Alex helped a lost Ashlea find her friends. As the saying goes, the rest is history!
It’s only fitting that after such a meeting, their wedding was equally romantic. Ashlea is a self-confessed romantic and wanted their big day to feel like a fairytale.
With the picturesque Alverstoke Homestead as their venue, Ashlea and Alex used the rustic feel of the setting as the foundation of their styling. The couple used flowers and materials such as pallet wood and Belgian linen to reflect their own vintage styles.
Guests were made to feel as comfortable as possible with Ashlea telling us they provided blankets and ‘insect repellent to ensure our guests went home smitten, not bitten!’
Both Ashlea and Alex have strong family ties and wanted to include their loved ones in their wedding. ‘The day was made possible by all of our loving friends and family,’ Ashlea said. This included the hand-making of Ashlea’s dress by her auntie, her brother as MC and her grandfather assisting as a celebrant.
Their families were so involved, in fact, that Alex and his mum were able to secretly choreograph a mash-up dance performance for the reception. It ‘started as a slow waltz that turned into a mash-up of ‘Shake your Tail Feather’, ‘Surfing Safari’, ‘Shout’ and ‘Yeah’ by Usher,’ Ashlea said.
