This ‘Peppa Pig’ inspired birthday bash is what party dreams are made of! This super cute celebration was put together by blogger She Is, Sarah Jane for her daughter Mia Grace’s second birthday.

Sarah Jane says, ‘It was about 10 months ago that I started thinking about Mia Grace’s birthday, as I had just found out I was pregnant and that her little sister and was due just 16 days after her second birthday …which would mean I would be rather large at 37.5 weeks pregnant! I wanted to throw a party, but I had accepted this probably would be very practical just prior to giving birth, so I put the plans off the table.’

Sarah Jane continues, ‘unfortunately, this wasn’t to be though… Charlotte Rose, Mia Grace’s little sister was stillborn on January 11th. In the weeks and months following, I needed something, anything positive to focus on – and so this second birthday extravaganza came to life!’

Taking a theme of ‘Peppa Pig Does Pink’, the event was styled around a colour palette of soft pinks, rose pink, baby pink and fuchsia, combined with some pops of purple and orange, which are all outfit colours from the other characters in the Peppa Pig TV show (talk about attention to detail!).

Sarah Jane says, ‘Mia Grace just adores Peppa Pig, so the theme was a very easy decision!’

While Sarah Jane worked with vendors on the décor, she also incorporated a handmade DIY elements into the styling—including four photo collages on canvases and a giant number ‘2’ made from about 200 photos cut specifically to fit the number on top a painted canvas.

She adds, ‘while I wanted this celebration to look absolutely beautiful, I couldn’t help but ensure there was some mummy DIY in every direction!’

‘I think in a past-life I was a party planner – I LOVE IT! I love the mood boards, deciding on the theme and then styling every square inch of it! It’s not about how much money you spend, it’s about style and being resourceful – and planning ahead! Try and find wholesale outlets, explore some bargain shops and then splash out on some feature pieces if you wish. Don’t be afraid to mix’n’match and when in-doubt, there’s Pinterest!’
