Papier x HOORAY! Paper Flower Workshop
Thursday, May 9th, 2019 | By Emily Coates
We’re super excited to give you an inside peek into our recent paper flower workshop, which we hosted in collaboration with online stationery brand Papier.
Founded in London, Papier is a premium stationery brand that curates beautiful artwork from designers, artists and illustrators and turns them into stunning wedding stationery designs (like their newly launched wedding stationery collection with Romance Was Born!). They also offer notebooks and note cards, and provide the option for personalisation via its website. Once you have finalised your design using their templates, the designs are printed on luxe paper in Sydney and sent directly to your door (it almost sounds too easy, huh?).
Papier launched in Australia in 2017 and we thought it was about time we gave them a big HOORAY! welcome. And what better way to introduce one of our favourite brands to the land down under, than by gathering some of our favourite Melbourne-based creatives and HOORAY! readers, and putting on a floral-filled workshop?
Read on to discover how it all unfolded…
the venue
Melbourne is most definitely spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful venues, but we just couldn’t go past hosting this fun-filled event at the industrial-chic Canvas House. With its black exposed beams, polished concrete floor and abundance of space, it provided the perfect backdrop for the festivities.
THE STYLING
The event’s Pinterest-worthy styling was dreamed up by the oh-so-lovely Eliska from Ruffles and Bells. Not only is Eliska a breeze to work with, but her keen eye for detail is truly unmatchable. Taking inspiration from Papier’s Romance Was Born ‘Hallmark’ design, Eliska brought all of our mood boards and inspiration pictures to life and we couldn’t have been happier!
We had two jaw-droppingly beautiful installations at our event. One was a dramatic and moody deep green balloon arch created by Moonshot Balloons and the other was an eye-catching hanging streamer installation by Bangin Hangings.
The Furniture
The blank canvas space was also filled with chic furniture from Dann Event Hire. We can’t help but lust over their plush velvet furniture in the perfect shade of deep emerald green.
A peek at Papier’s wedding stationery collections
Our guests were treated to an up-close peek at Papier’s stunning range of stationery, introduced by the Australian brand manager, Sarah.
There were so many beautiful designs on display; we were hard-pressed to pick a favourite! There certainly is a design for every kind of couple, regardless of your preferred stationery style.
Sweet treats
Mirjana from Torte by Mirjana brought a beautiful deep green floral-inspired cake and we were blown away. Not only did this awe-inspiring cake look like a work of art, but it tasted truly heavenly. Vanessa from Cookies and Crumbs Melbourne also provided us with some delicious Papier x HOORAY! sugar cookies that our lucky guests took away in their goody bags.
THE FLORALS
Not only were there paper flowers on display, but the table was also adorned with beautiful fresh florals by one of our favourite floral studios Flos Botanical. Isn’t she a talent?
let’s get crafty!
Our guests were treated to a paper peony class by Louise from Paper Lab.
Attendees mingled and shared some laughs as they worked to create their perfect paper flower.
