Tell us a little about yourself: I’m an Art Director and wedding and lifestyle photographer based in Sydney, Australia. I’m recently married and have recently bought a little terrace home which we’ve just finished renovating, and live in with our 2 little puppies. Blog_Meeta_HannahBlackmore_13 How did you get into photography? My love of photography began almost 10 years ago when I started working as an Art Director for a large publishing company. Being on photo shoots constantly made me fall in love with photography and realised I wanted to be behind the lens shooting not just directing. Blog_Meeta_HannahBlackmore_11 Describe your aesthetic: I love soft images, beautiful light and interesting shapes. I would say my style is quite editorial, ethereal and fresh. I love photos that create a sense of escapism and beauty Blog_Meeta_HannahBlackmore_10 Talk us through a typical day at work: I spend the first hour or so replying to e-mails, then I update social media, blogs etc. before client meetings or heading off to a shoot. As I divide my time between weddings, lifestyle shots and art directing no day is ever the same. I’m always on the lookout for new and fresh locations to shoot. Blog_Meeta_HannahBlackmore_07 What’s the coolest project you’ve worked on? I’ve shot some pretty amazing weddings at some pretty beautiful locations. Whenever I shoot at Merribee (on the South Coast) I always love the results. I love getting out of Sydney and spending the day in paddocks around large properties. I also love shooting the interiors of beautiful homes – that never gets old. Blog_Meeta_HannahBlackmore_05 What do you love most about your job? That nothing is ever the same. I get to do it all, design, shoot, style and direct. I love having a creative job and I know how lucky I am to be able to do what I love every day. I also love working with inspiring people who make working so enjoyable. Blog_Meeta_HannahBlackmore_06 I am happiest when… I arrive home from a shoot that I loved shooting, and even if it’s 2am – I have to start looking at the photos. I’m equally happy spending a rare weekend off at home curled up on the sofa with my husband and my two dogs.
