A Boating 30th Birthday in Seattle
Thursday, August 20th, 2015 | By Rosalie Iannelli
Chris and his wife Kacey had recently moved to Seattle with their infant son, so Chris’ 30th birthday celebration was a mix of old and new friends.
The couple had just bought a new house but were months away from living in it, so they decided a boat ride on Lake Union and dinner on the lawns of their new home would be a great way to celebrate their new city and Chris’ birthday.
The menu was inspired by what Seattle does best – local, freshly caught seafood. On the boat, the caterers created adorable premixed drinks, so all guests had to do was pop the lid and enjoy. For the dinner party later on at the house, mixologists from a local cocktail bar created classic Manhattans, dirty martinis and gin and tonics.
The best moment? ‘Standing up on the second-floor balcony together, looking down at the party, and realising this is only the first of many celebrations to be had at our new house, in our new city, in this new decade!’ said Kacey and Chris.
