With their love of 1960s California as the driving inspiration for their event styling, Annabelle and Jeremy married surrounded by 60s charisma and charm. Annabelle describes her and Jeremy’s wedding as ‘a grown-up affair where booze was plentiful, dancing reigned, and conversation flowed’.
The event was held in Annabelle’s grandmother’s residence—a 1960s Californian style villa. Perched atop a Coolangatta hill, the house tied in perfectly with their 1960s surf chic Californian theme and was the perfect setting for a summery afternoon wedding.
‘It’s a 1960s large single-level white brick, lace metal house with an indoor bar and a fabulous backyard and fig tree—the venue was a no-brainer for us,’ says Annabelle. ‘It combined our theme with our family.’
The couple’s families were a big part of the day, with an abundance of handmade and hand baked elements. Jeremy’s Dad sewed napkins, tablecloths and aprons and Annabelle’s Dad made 100 pottery bowls for the favours. Desserts were made my Annabelle’s Mum and Aunties, and Annabelle’s sister in law baked the coconut cake. According to Annabelle, ‘she deserves a medal for that cake!’
