After launching their business earlier in the year, WedShed held a Christmas shindig with over 100 guests. It was the perfect way to thank people for welcoming them into the industry—plus it made for a great excuse to have a party!
Founded by long-time friends, Amy Lucas and Mel Mashman, WedShed is an online platform with a carefully curated selection of unique Australian wedding venues that are available to hire for weddings.
The light bulb moment came about when one of their friends became engaged and the pair realised how hard it was to find unique wedding venues online. Amy explains, ‘we knew that we’d probably be in the same boat soon enough and that there surely had to be other couples that were struggling with the same thing. Since launching, we’ve partnered with 100+ unique venues right across Australia.’
‘We pinch ourselves sometimes that we get to live out a passion and help people plan one of the best days of their lives in the process,’ Amy adds.
‘Since starting-up, we’ve felt so overwhelmingly welcomed and supported by the wedding industry at large—vendors and venues alike. We really wanted to give something back to them as a token of appreciation and thanks. As a new business, it’s hard to articulate how much it means to us to have people partner with us so we thought perhaps we could show them.’
