How to Style a Baby Shower Brunch
Tuesday, April 19th, 2016 | By Emily Coates
Does one of your besties have a little one on the way? Throwing a baby shower takes some organisation prowess, but to make things a little bit easier, we’ve pulled together a guide on how to style the ultimate baby shower bash.
Providing visual inspiration for our tips is an absolutely stunning styled shoot from event planning and styling extraordinaire, Stephanie Luketic of The Eventurer. Drawing on years of event planning, Stephanie works in Melbourne alongside some of the industry’s best of the best to bring her client’s event visions to life.
Stephanie explains, ‘What I love most about creating events and experiences, is that after all the meetings, hours of planning and setting up on the big day, the greatest satisfaction is seeing the joy and smile on our clients face!’
Now, on to party styling!
1. Pick a colour palette
The first step is to pick your colour palette—and stick to it! Use your colours as a guide for all décor to create a harmonious look for your event. If a baby girl is on the way, you simply can’t go wrong with a classic pink and white colour combo.
2. Choose decorations
Add an instant sense of fun with large helium-filled balloons in the colours you have selected. You can pick up balloons similar to the ones Stephanie has used from party suppliers such as Poppies for Grace, Melbourne Party Emporium, Lark and Ruby Rabbit.
3. Bring the blooms
Fresh flowers will lift your table setting to another level, adding interest and a fresh floral fragrance. We love how Stephanie has tied her floral selection to her colour palette—pink on pink!
4. Pick your plates
Your flatware will be front and centre when guests take to the table, so ensure you present them with a pretty sight. You don’t need to go over the top—for this baby shower set up, Stephanie opted for a selection of classic clean white dinnerware, with a pink menu atop.
5. Set the table
There’s nothing that says ‘elegance’ quite like a beautifully set dinner table. We love how Stephanie has dressed her table without a tablecloth and has styled the napkins under the dinnerware.
