A Baby Block Party for Vivi’s 2nd Birthday
Monday, October 2nd, 2017 | By Emily Coates
Set in an industrial Melbourne venue reminiscent of an urban warehouse, Vivi’s second birthday was not your typical two-year-old kids’ party. Yep, this might just be one of the coolest kids’ birthdays we’ve ever seen!
You won’t find any cheesy games, stereotypical colour palettes or overdone traditions here. Instead, Felicity and Bree of Creating Beautiful took inspiration from NY and LA street art to throw the ultimate baby block party.
Bree says, ‘We wanted the styling to still look pretty, but with a twist of “cool”. We used soft velvet lounges paired with a milk crate side table, balloons with neon signs, pretty kids’ chairs mixed with milk crate tables, and dessert station with the coolest balloon installation!’
A colour scheme of pink, emerald green and mint was complemented by touches of black to add a street party grunge vibe.
And we’re totally obsessing over the super cute signage! The creative talents behind Sketch and Etch and Master Otis Designs crafted an array of signage to pull the event decor together.
Little partygoers were entertained with cookie decorating, a colouring table, and a balloon pit, as well as a photo booth with custom angel-wing wallpaper (too cute!).
And Bree and Felicity’s advice for those planning a kids’ birthday party? They say, ‘keep it fun for the kids with entertaining activities …and lots of balloons, of course!’
