Having just gotten married and starting her own event design business, Jacqueline’s 30th birthday was all about celebrating her new sense of self in this uncharted chapter of her life.
‘I wanted a celebration that was as vibrant, and fun as I knew my 30s would be,’ says Jacqueline.
Set in the intimate gated front yard of her sister’s home, she used the garden as inspiration for her styling.
‘I wanted a statement springtime palette, so I paired jelly bean colored hues with a fun bold print,’ explains Jacqueline.
With a colour like berry pink, yellow and orange, Jacqueline used bright florals and tapers to pop alongside her blue patterned tablecloth and the greenery of the garden.
At each setting, a fuchsia geode held down handmade place cars. Jacqueline also crafted the cutest mini party hats and jumbo party horns in fun prints that coincided with the colour scheme. At the bar, a quirky sign set a lighthearted mood as guest enjoyed signature cocktails and petite bites before sitting down to a family-style mediterranean dinner.
‘I also wanted the night to feel intimate, so we hung globe lights low, just above the tables,’ says Jacqueline.
‘It was absolutely magical – sharing food and memories engulfed in the lights and glow of love and laughter. I couldn’t imagine a better setting to celebrate the dawn of a new decade.’
