Auggie’s Dinosaur 1st Birthday Party

Taking a modern approach to a popular kids’ birthday theme, the team from Golden Arrow Events & Design created this fun-filled celebration for the birthday boy, August (or Auggie).

They drew inspiration from cute and colourful dinosaur paper goods by Daydream Society to bring the party to life and coined the term “Auggiesaur,” which became a central, personalised element on the day.

Key colours for the styling went well beyond the conventional blue and green, with red, yellow, black, white and even pops of teal incorporated throughout.

Penelope Pots Florals used lush tropical greens to create the perfect backdrop for the dessert table. The kids’ tables were decked out with potted plants and textured greens, as well as paper goods, dinosaur figurines and dinosaur sipper cups.

“Every party also needs a balloon garland!” says Melissa, co-owner of Golden Arrow.

“We added some vinyl dinosaur footprints to the balloons for a fun detail.”

Although, if we’re totally honest, our favourite element is undeniably the custom-made placemats, blocks and signage the team cut out of plywood and stamped with a dinosaur or footprint pattern.

For those hoping to use this party to inspire a celebration of their own, Golden Arrow have one piece of advice.

“The idea that less is more definitely does not fit this design! Have fun with all the colour and patterns,” explains Melissa.
