If your idea of a dream wedding is full of craft beer, woodfired pizza and live music, then look no further than the wedding of James and Brooke.

James and Brooke certainly turned the cool factor right up for their Brisbane nuptials.

“We’re no fuss people but we love a good party,” shared Brooke.

The happy couple’s laid-back, fun-loving attitude certainly showed in their raucous bash full of fun, food and friendships.

The Venue

Brooke and James chose the endlessly cool Gunshop Café – West Endas the venue for their big backyard love party.

The couple chose to pare back the décor and styling, in order to let the true rustic and artistic style of the Gunshop Café shine through.

This loved up duo prove that choosing the right venue with an energy that suits your vision can really make the day shine.

When asked of the highlight of their big day, Brooke says, “drinking a Bloody Mary, James drinking a scotch with the staff and band at the end of the night after we sent everyone home. We felt like Gunshop was a second home and the staff our good friends. It was the perfect time to reflect on the day.”

The Blooms

Brooke and James have always loved adventuring in nature, so including nature in their big day was obvious step for the two.

In collaboration with Wild at Heart Flowers, Brooke and James selected blooms they connected with, which had meaning to them and their families.

Brooke explains “I didn’t consider myself a traditional bride, so I wanted something a bit different—a bit moody to be honest. Gum was a representation of the country areas in which we grew up, rosemary because it symbolises friendship, loyalty and memory—and we also love to cook—and the Mr Lincoln rose was James’ late mothers favourite, so we wanted her represented.”
