A Wonderfully Whimsical First Birthday

Take a peek into this dreamy party, which Jessica’s mum, Emma, organised for her first birthday!

Emma and her husband Anthony have three little ones, two boys and one girl. She’s an event planner and he’s a chef, so it goes without saying that birthday parties are extra special occasions in this household!

Jessica’s first birthday was a peachy pastel-filled affair, with touches of feminine florals and spring-inspired decorations. Emma told us she wanted to make the occasion special by throwing “a dreamy, romantic and whimsical celebration!”

Jessica was dressed in a super-cute flower girl dress by Coco Blush Boutique. The champagne tutu dress perfectly complemented the theme of the party, giving little Jessica a touch of glam for her special day!

The Décor

Florals were the feature when decorating for this whimsical birthday party. Emma recently visited Europe to celebrate her brother’s wedding where she found inspiration for the styling—the bride’s bouquet in particular. She says “France, flowers and spring, inspired the decor.”

A flower cart greeted guests as they arrived, while bunches of blooms hung high above the festivities. A flower wall made for a beautiful backdrop and guests were even provided with the option to make their very own flower crowns!

Emma decorated the tables with pops of peach and gold table settings. Scattered rugs, floor cushions, a hanging macramé wall piece and a white peacock-style chair tied it all together, adding a touch of chic bohemian flair.

Party Tips

Emma’s number one tip when planning a special occasion? Emma says it’s to “personalise your party!” She says that personal touches are always welcomed and appreciated.

For this occasion, each little party guest went home with a golden disc with their name on it, which were used as place settings. Not only that, but upon leaving each mini party guest received a little flowerpot to say thanks for helping Jessica grow—how sweet is that!?
