A Garden Party With A Dash of Unicorn Magic
Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 | By Phoebe Davies
How do you make a four-year-old’s birthday even more magical? Well, you mix in some unicorn magic and let it flourish.
When Zara’s fourth birthday rolled around, her mum, Franki, wanted to create a birthday party her little one wouldn’t forget, and we’d say she definitely delivered.
With activities galore, treats as far as the eye can see, and loved ones to share it all with, it’s no wonder Zara called this the best birthday ever.
The Theme + Décor
The theme for this special day was a magical unicorn garden party. Guaranteeing lots of magic, blush and soft pastels throughout, and a whole lot of fun for everyone in attendance.
A unicorn wall wrapped in balloons of all sizes and various pastels shades stood welcoming guests to the party. Offering both a backdrop to the day’s events, and a spot to take a photo and capture some memories.
Picnic tables offered a place to rest, eat and observe as the day unfolded from the comfort of a cushion seat. And for those who didn’t want a seat at the picnic tables, ottomans and smaller seating arrangements were also on offer.
With a sunny day bringing the perfect weather for a garden party, umbrellas overhead ensured shade and protection for all the party goers.
Bursts of florals added the final touches to the tables, the bubbly bar wall, and even the birthday cake.
The Treats
No garden party would be complete without the food, drinks and equally delicious treats to match.
Spread across the picnic tables were boards of food, filled to the brim with meat, cheese, hummus, fruit, veggies, bread, and crackers.
The guests were treated to a range of cookies and cupcakes, some of which even brought in the party’s unicorn theme into the treats.
Complete with a wall of champagne glasses already filled up, against a backdrop of greenery, the adults had a treat all to themselves.
And what would a birthday be without a cake? With pops of pinks, white, and gold dotted across pale pink frosting, complete with sprinkles, pearls and floral embellishments, Zara’s birthday cake stole the show.
The Activities
The wonders of the day didn’t just stop at the theme, décor, or the treats – there were lots of extra touches to keep the kiddies entertained.
What is the best way to do so you ask? With activity tables, sensory play, and a whole lot of play doh.
The stations included chalkboard-topped tables, tables with tubs of sand and toys, and tables topped with jars of play doh and play doh creations.
So, the little party goers were able to draw to their heart’s content, explore the world of tactile with sand sensory play, and create whatever their hearts desired at the play doh station.
