A Modern Americana Fourth of July Soiree

Can you believe it’s that time of year again? The Fourth of July is just a few sleeps away, which means you’ve probably got your celebrations sorted. In case you’re still on the hunt for the ultimate 4th of July inspo, keep reading to see this modern American twist!

The House of Fete team, Marissa and Kelsey, are particularly passionate about the 4th, as it marks another anniversary of their first official styled shoot as a business. What better way to celebrate than with another styled shoot, this time, inviting along some friends and family to make the most of it?!

The duo did a wonderful job bringing their mood board to life on this Modern Americana-styled mini soiree.

Lenny Kravits and songs like American baby set the tone, with all the top American tracks to keep the party going.

The Styling

Inspired by a red, pink and blue striped plate design by Rice US, the team added their own touch to the classic American theme with punches of pink and modern elements such as disco balls and balloons.

A chic table design was the key to tying this modern Americana theme together, Marissa explains. A carefully placed arrangement of garlands, confetti and cookies surrounded the red, white and teal tapered candles that lined the centre of the table. As the sun went down, the candles made the perfect sparkly addition to the celebrations.

The balloon wall, mimicking the American flag, stole the show acting as the perfect backdrop for guests to toast the USA and take some family snaps.

Using a half disco ball as a vase, Apis Florals got creative with flowers, mixing ombre pinks, purples and blues with cherries and greenery. All of which added a chic and soft touch to the already gorgeous styling.

The Food

Classic American foods made an appearance at the gathering, including party must-haves, gourmet hot dogs, corn on the cob and charcuterie. There was even a potato chip platter that included everything from sweet potato fries, crinkle cut chips and even potato gems!

There was no shortage of sweet treats either. Custom hand-painted sugar cookies, French macaroons, berry pavlovas and cotton candy complimented the three their cake that was decorated with floral touches. All, of course, fitting the colour palette.

The bubbles and Brew vintage mobile bar added even more fun to this soiree, with Champagne, Kool Aid & Pink lemonade on tap.

The House of Fete team say the key to success for any event is to ‘Pick you colour story and theme carefully, never let go of the inspiration’.
