Styling with The Style Co.
We were so excited to hold our Melbourne wedding styling HOORAY! workshop with The Style Co. on August 10, 2014. This one was definitely our fastest selling workshop to date, which is testament to the popularity of the insanely talented duo Marie and Sarah, co-owners of The Style Co, and, my-oh-my did they deliver… The day began with a quick spruce up of the already beautiful venue, The Abbotsford Convent. With some simple ferns, a styled room (to reveal later on) and 20 goodie bags holding gifts from Coco Daydream, Alex Mae, Whileaway Guides, Koch & Co and Bursaria, the place was ready to go. Once students were settled into their places the workshop began with the inspiring story behind The Style Co. Sarah and Marie even gave some tips on how to make a career out of your dreams and how to run a creative business, then it was time to learn styling and first up was a talk on aesthetics and developing your ‘voice’. Sarah and Marie shared a heap of before and after pics of their events and talked about refining ideas and concepts from inspirational images. Students were feeling pretty peckish by this point, so the group broke to feast on an amazing lunch from the team at Bursaria. They served up the most delicious salad jars, soup and delightful fruit salad cups, followed by their famous homemade lemonade. After lunch it was time for The Style Co. ladies to uncover the room that they had styled earlier using pieces from Dann Event Hire. Students surrounded the table while Marie explained the best way to hire furniture and style events. Following this, the beautiful Zoe form The Style Co. Flowers took charge and taught the class how to create a cute table arrangement, which each student got to take home with them! By the time the Q&A session came around, our students were bursting with questions, all of which Marie and Sarah happily answered. Then we sent them on their way to put into practice everything that they had learnt that day. A huge thank you goes out to all of our sponsors for the day, including wonder woman Lilli Waters, who took the fantastic snaps below, and Alastair from She Takes Pictures He Makes Films, for capturing the workshop on film.
