We all know the story of the Little Red Riding Hood, but did anybody else realise it could be a super cute birthday party theme? Renee of Lottie and Me certainly did when she planned Charlotte’s 1st birthday. Renee said that she wanted to keep the feeling ‘natural and organic, yet sophisticated,’ so she made use of natural products to bring depth and feel to the room. She also made sure that the room was kept clean, with as little clutter as possible to highlight the special details.

The party was styled with natural tones of red, green and brown, and decorations like moss, logs, succulents, branches and flowers to capture a woodlands feel. Guests were also greeted with signs reading “through the woods”, “Granny’s house”, and “beware of the wolf!!” The party favours were definitely a stand out element of the event, with the adults receiving magnolia seedlings and the girls and boys taking home a picnic basket or a camping sack full of chocolate truffles. With charmingly styled sweets and savouries tables, the guests had plenty to choose from, including Red Riding Hood inspired red apples, red lollies and apple shaped cake pops, which were all pre-made a day or two early so that Renee could also enjoy the day. Charlotte’s 1st birthday party was the perfect family affair. It was fun, entertaining, and beautifully styled with so many cute details, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
