When it comes to birthday cakes, does it really get any better than a classic ice cream cake?

We think not! So we’re super excited to share this super simple, but oh-so-delicious recipe with you. DIY_Cook_IceCreamCake_02.jpg

TIME

4.5 hours (including freezing time)

SUITABLE FOR

Ages 6+

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

1L tub vanilla ice cream | 1L tub chocolate ice cream | 1L tub strawberry ice cream | 50g Maltesers, crushed | 50g marshmallows, chopped | 50g clinkers, crushed | sprinkles | mixing bowl | spatula | 20cm spring-form tin

WHAT TO DO

  1. Place chocolate ice cream in a large mixing bowl and allow to soften. Add marshmallows and combine
  2. Spoon mixture into cake tin, cover and pop in freezer for about 10 minutes or until fairly firm
  3. Repeat this same process with vanilla ice cream and Maltesers, and strawberry ice cream and clinkers, then cover entire cake and allow to freeze completely for at least 4 hours

AND THEN

Use your favourite flavour combinations of ice cream and confectionary – You don’t have to stick to the ones we’ve chosen! We also think it could be fun to decorate the cake with a drizzle of cold chocolate sauce. Also note that when serving the cake, it melts very quickly so you’ll need to work fast!
