Don’t have time to make a proper gingerbread house? Love gingerbread, but hate the bucket-loads of candy that go with it? Well, this one’s for you!
For today’s instalment of the HOORAY! online advent calendar, the wonderful Alyson of Sugar and Bash has shared this super cute gingerbread cake topper DIY project. Give it a go for upcoming Christmas parties!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Gingerbread Dough | Icing | Cutting Tool | Card Stock | Scissors | Wooden Skewers
WHAT TO DO
- Using the card stock, cut out tall triangles in a few sizes for the mountains
- Insert Skewers slowly into the bottom. Make sure they are long enough for your cake so they can rest firmly in the cake.
- Bake according to package
- Once cool, ice the tips of the mountains. I used store-bought icing because it was such a small amount, but you can always whip up some royal icing.
Sprinkle fine sugar over the cookies for a little sparkle!
