An Enchanted Fairy 9th Birthday Party

Do you believe in fairies? We do – and we certainly believe in beautifully styled fairy-themed parties like this one.

Today we’re sharing all the images from Lily’s enchanted 9th birthday party – and it’s everything our nine-year-old fairy-obsessed selves could have ever dreamed of and more!

Taking inspiration from Lily’s free-spirited personality and wild imagination, as well as stylistic cues from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Zoe of Fêted Events teamed up with a team of talented vendors in Perth to pull together a magical celebration for the lucky birthday girl.

Zoe says, ‘Lily’s 9^th birthday was an earthy and moody take on the enchanted woodland theme. Taking A Mid Summers Night Dream as our inspiration for this birthday feast we created an abundant kids’ grazing table in the hollow of an ancient Morton Bay fig tree. An enormous floral wreath suspended from the tree set the scene for little fairies to gather and celebrate with floral crowns and pink lemonade.’

Lily’s favourite colour is purple, so shades of purple – from pale mauves through to deep plums were incorporated throughout the decor and florals, complemented with accents of soft pinks, creams, browns and greens to achieve an earthy colour palette. Lily’s ombre purple floral crown was a special touch created by her talented florist Mum.

Zoe adds, ‘We wanted the event to feel like the guests were sprites in the forest meeting for a celebration – elegant but earthy. Using the idea of a grazing table we added white washed wooden stools from the Hire Society and employed the stunning natural surrounds as a backdrop to create a modern forest feel in Suburbia.’

‘Early on we decided a long grazing table laden with all manner of birthday food would let the little sprites feel very grown up. Their jaws dropped when they entered the hollow and saw the feast! In addition to fresh fruit, crackers, chicken balls, sesame snaps, dips and cheeses – Lily’s favourite! We also added rose and pistachio chocolate bark, nougat, dried fruits and nuts and seeds. We wanted to everything to feel that it could have been gathered from the forest for the feast.’
