A Floral Mandala + Meditation Workshop
Sunday, March 18th, 2018 | By Emily Coates
A morning filled with meditation, flowers, food and great company… really, can you think of a better way to spend a Sunday?
We sure can’t. The HOORAY! team recently attended a floral mandala and meditation workshop created in celebration of all things summer, joy and abundance… and it was truly one of the loveliest Sunday mornings we’ve had all year.
Larissa of Lady Larissa Flowers and Bec of Song of Oya Soy Candles combined forces to bring the workshop to life. Taking ‘a farewell to Summer‘ as their theme, the ladies treated attendees to a guided meditation session focused on the solar plexus chakra, followed by a soul-soothing flower mandala workshop with florals in Summer-inspired colours. Attendees let their creativity run wild, creating floral mandalas in artful arrangements of daisies, yellow spray roses, carnations and greenery, as well as citrine and rose quartz crystals.
The workshop took place at Gold Creek Station, a gorgeous wedding and events venue rich in historic charm – think dark timber floorboards, heritage details, high ceilings and an abundance of natural light streaming in through gorgeous wooden windows. While close to the city, the peaceful bushland surrounds make the venue feel as though it’s a world away from it all; a truly tranquil setting for us to meditate and escape.
Our morning was captured by one of our favourite Canberra-based photographers, Bel Combridge Photography – and her series of stunning images below will paint a picture of how it all unfolded.
